Why Priyanka Chopra’s stand against not giving in to pressure to get breast implants a big deal for women and society?

Would you want your daughter to go under the knife to play to the male gallery? Do you want her to feel pressured to have to constantly live up to an impossible beauty standard and suffer low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression as she can no longer keep up the facade?

My eye caught a news item that read “ Priyanka Chopra says a director asked her to go under the knife, fix her ‘proportions’: ‘It’s so normalized’.

It further went on to read how she walked out of that project. This is very impressive that she is talking about it as we have normalized women going under the knife as some kind of rite of passage for women in Hollywood.The constant inundation from the media where we are photobombed with pictures of women that have proportions altered to fit what appeals to a man’s sexual fantasies set an extremely nauseating social trend.

First off, it feeds to a very misogynistic and patriarchal viewpoint, and secondly, it just validates women are nothing more than sexual objects meant to please a man’s idea of beauty.
